The book “Die Dada – wie Frauen Dada prägten” presents the first comprehensive overview of the most important female painters, writers, dancers, musicians, publishers and patrons of the avant-garde Dada art movement.
With two main chapters and an extensive index, the book portrays the female Dada movement by using a flexible layout system where the biographies of the protagonists are juxtaposed to the main text. The diversity of protagonists within the female Dada movement is reflected by the variety of type faces on the cover, chapter openers and the vivid contrasting colours.
The entire book is set with various versions of MF Bespoke, generated from the parametric type design application “Metaflop.com”. The many typographic forms are a reinterpretation of dadaist type collages, originally found in Kurt Schwitters poem compositions or magazines such as “391” and “Die Schammade”.
